Our client is currently looking for a Finance Analyst on a Fixed Term basis, to join an expanding finance team to help support the ongoing growth of the business.


Your role would be to work with the Finance Business Partner, supporting and challenging the business through value adding commercial insight and analysis.


This is a great opportunity to gain much sought after commercial experience, influence decision making, cross functional working and exposure to working with senior management. You should be very proficient with financial and commercial analysis and modelling.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Business Partners in the creation of financial modelling and analysis to the business and provide insightful reporting on key strategic projects
  • Analyse large data-sets to monitor performance, highlight key trends and provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Develop & prepare relevant, regular & timely reporting for the business to understand and maintain and develop forecasting models
  • Act as a business partner for one product team
  • Preparation of ad-hoc analysis and scenario modelling to analyse business and product performance
  • Support the production of quarterly forecasts, challenging teams where necessary to derive a robust forecast
  • Supporting the preparation and development of a 12-week rolling cashflow forecast
  • Supporting the business with analysis and support on target acquisitions
  • Occasional Month end reporting and analysis

Skills:

  • Relevant experience of finance analysis and modelling
  • Demonstrate excellent business partnering skills including the ability to translate financial data in to meaningful management information, providing insight to support decisions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and explain complex ideas in simple terms with non-finance stakeholders
  • Able to take user specifications and develop timely and accurate reports, models and analysis
  • Commercial acumen and ability to understand the drivers behind financial models and forecasts.
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision
  • An ability to step back and see the big picture
  • Constantly looks for ways to improve the quality and provision of information and seeks to identify value adding opportunities
  • Proven organisational and project management skills, and the ability to work and collaborate with the wider business on large projects.

Knowledge:

  • Have a commercial background preferably in a Business Finance Analyst capacity

  • Ideally be studying towards or be a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)

  • Strong excel skills which include the ability to sort and analyse large data sets through the use of pivot tables and key excel functions (including vlookups, sumifs, pivot tables)

  • Experience of modelling discounted cashflows, key performance KPI’s and other valuation techniques
  • Experience of Power BI is desirable but not essential
