Well known business based in the Crewe area requires a payroll officer for their busy team. Reporting to ther Payroll Manager this is an excellent role that offers progression to the right person:

Duties of this role will include:

  • Collation and input of payroll data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at all times.
  • Checking of payroll outputs by way of reporting and data referencing.
  • Processing payroll from start through to completion.
  • Ensure that HMRC and other government agency queries are dealt with accurately and efficiently.
  • Compliance with HMRC and other government agency rules and regulations.
  • Provide accurate data to colleagues and field teams by way of phone and email queries.
  • Processing of bulk and individual BACs payments.
  • Processing and calculations of sick pay, holiday pay, SMP, SSP and other statutory entitlements.
  • Use of excel spreadsheets for recording of data.
  • Pension calculations, Auto-enrolment process and payment of contributions
  • Associated general administration tasks.

Skills/ competencies:

Experience of processing large volumes of payroll data, accurately

Understanding of PAYE and NIC

Knowledge - SSP, SMP ,Pension auto enrolment

Ability to calculate a manual payslip

Accurate inputting skills

Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
