This division are based in Sheffield producing specialist hot rolled stainless rod and bar products.
They are looking to appoint a Shift Mechanical Technician – Engineering who will carry out mechanical maintenance and improvements across the ASR plant, ensuring that efficiency is maximised. Working shifts in a mechanical team of two, you will cover the mechanical operations within a heavy engineering plant.
Within the role you will fault find on hydraulics and pneumatics to component level, using engineering drawings to identify faults and resolve problems on the plant. Having responsibility for the maintenance of the mill mechanical plant, you will also be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of overhead DC and AC cranes, and of pumps, including many utilised on acid systems. Optimising preventative maintenance programs and reacting to breakdown requirements to safely and promptly rectify faults, you will assist in production changeovers as required.
As the successful candidate, you will be time served with a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent to NVQ level 3. With the ability to understand and interpret mechanical drawings and technical data, you will have a knowledge of PC systems and will maintain good housekeeping standards in your own work area as well as on plant.
