Programme Area Manager
Programme Area Manager. 18.5 hours per week. Permanent.
We are seeking a new Programme Area Manager with the passion and vision to lead our department providing specialist provision for young people with a range of learning disabilities spanning Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) to moderate learning disabilities.
The Supported Learning programme areas offer a range of full and part-time courses for young people and adults with learning disabilities from informal through to level 1 programmes.
Responsibilities include the direct line management of delivery staff including; Programme Leads, Lecturers, Key Workers and Inclusion Coordinators; contributing to the planning process, timetabling, health and safety for the designated areas, managing students and working as an integral member of the management team to ensure all learners receive an outstanding learning experience. The post necessitates considerable liaison with external agencies, local authorities, specialist schools and other partners. You will also be a designated safeguarding lead.
An ability to demonstrate a commitment to improving learning, teaching and assessment is essential together with a strong track record of effective performance management and quality improvement through demonstrating excellence in personal teaching practice. You will have excellent team building and communication skills to drive improvements within the Programme Area in visionary and innovative ways to deliver outstanding results. Substantial knowledge of the sector including the SEND reforms, EHCP requirements and the Preparing for Adulthood agenda with the ability to plan the curriculum effectively is essential.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent with extensive knowledge of SEND and experience of working with young adults, hold a full teaching qualification and demonstrate a good understanding of quality assurance and data management.
