Senior Counsellor/Director of The Leicester Counselling Centre

Position:  A vacancy has arisen for the above post and the Centre invites applications from suitably qualified professionals.

Location: Leicester

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum, pro rata

Responsible to: The Executive Committee

Hours of work: Part-time 0.8 FTE, flexible

About The Leicester Counselling Centre

The Leicester Counselling Centre (TLCC) is a charity and voluntary sector organisation with an excellent, long-standing reputation of nearly 40 years. The aim of the Centre is to provide affordable, long-term counselling to adults in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. It also provides an EAP service to local companies. The team comprises a Director, Administrator, around 80 volunteer and placement counsellors and 12 volunteer receptionists. It is a lively and thriving Centre with a professional, yet friendly, atmosphere.

Our current Director is retiring, and we are looking for a new Director to lead TLCC in delivering and developing high quality, affordable counselling services. This person will be an experienced psychotherapist/counsellor with proven leadership, management and organisational skills in the voluntary/charity sector, who can provide strategic direction alongside the Executive Committee.  You will need to have a strong commitment to the values and ethos of the Centre. Whilst the Director’s role includes a small caseload of clients, it is important to note that the major part of the role is focused on management and administrative tasks whilst also providing line-management and clinical support to the placement and volunteer counsellors.
