Our client was founded in 1809 and is the largest casual tableware brand in the UK.  Their heritage is at the core of their business and their stoneware is still proudly made in England.  Their brand positioning is ‘Styled by Life’ – versatile, beautiful and durable tableware and cookware designed for modern life. In recent years they have expanded into Licensed tableware (Monsoon and James Martin), Glassware, Accessories and Cookshop products to offer the full tabletop solution. Their Head Office is based in the village of Denby, Derbyshire close to the A38/M1 with subsidiaries in North America and South Korea.

Their product is available widely through their retail partners, their own Retail stores, their websites (denbypottery.com, denbyusa.com) and a number of distributor websites.

They are now looking for a Retail Merchandise Manager to join them on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

They are looking for someone who has great commercial awareness and who is confident in critically analysing, understanding and interpreting data for their retail and third-party sales to control margins as well as suggest recommendations as a result. You must have experience in setting and running promotions for the year, considering third party promotions alongside this. You would work with internal stakeholders for each promotion so the ability to build positive relationships is crucial.

You will also be part of their New Product Development team, working with their Design and Purchasing departments, reporting on performance, while looking at what new products could be introduced to complement existing pieces. There will also be an element of buying for third party purchases within this role, supported by their Gift Emporium Manager so experience of negotiating with sellers would be a benefit.

Collaborative and flexible working are key parts to this role due to its varied nature. The ideal candidate will be organised, have the ability to build and maintain long-standing relationships and be able to influence effectively. Previous experience of using Excel would be beneficial.

The hours of work for this role are 0845 – 1700 Monday – Friday, totalling 38.75 hours per week.
