Lean Manufacturing Engineer
Preston
GBP25,000 - GBP35,000 (Dependent on experience)
We are currently looking for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer for a manufacturing business based in Preston. After a period of growth and with further expansion planned, the business is looking for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer who can apply and implement lean practices to the site.
This role will suit an entry level candidate who has just completed their degree or suit someone more established in their career looking for the next step.
THE ROLE:
*
Identify areas for continuous improvement activities across the business
*
Engage workforce at all levels to gain commitment and understanding of the business change, primarily within the manufacturing arena.
*
Establish that lean principles are in place to achieve required standards
*
Drive a problem-solving rather than a problem-identifying approach
*
Expand and improve relationships across departments
*
Performing work place audits and streamlining processes within communication cells
*
Process mapping, identifying inefficiencies in takt times with a particular focus on floor layouts
THE PERSON:
The successful Lean Manufacturing Engineer will have in-depth knowledge of the following;
*
Strong ability to implement lean methodologies
*
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
*
Composed under pressure
*
Ideally Six Sigma accredited or trained
*
Naturally tenacious in approach and hungry to see tangible improvements
*
Approachable and engaging manner with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
*
Ability to effectively collect and analyse data
