Production Planner

Are you an experienced Production Planner used to working in a fast paced environment looking for your next career move?

With the ability to work at an operational and strategic level, Production or Manufacturing Industry experience is essential for the Production Planner role.
Reporting directly to the Works Director you will be responsible for all production planning and the development of the production scheduling system. This is an integral role to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the production and distribution of products within a busy production environment.

In turn our client will offer an attractive salary of up to GBP30k dependant on experience and an extensive benefit package including Private Healthcare, Private Dental care and use of company holiday homes as well as Pension plan and bonus scheme.

Key Responsibilities
o Plan production requirements across all production lines
o Provide production plans for all areas by agreed deadlines
o Work closely with Production Manager ensuring plans are correct and achievable
o Report production information against shortfalls / resource issues and over production
o Issue of Silo Log for timely delivery of bulk raw materials
o Develop and drive the production planning process
o Identify areas for improvement and drive forward new procedures regarding OEE and production processes and monitor standards via regular reporting
o Adjustment of systems to ensure accuracy of data
o Weekly stock / production meetings - delivering plans and discussions on potential shortfalls
o Working closely with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the Production process
o Effectively liaising with other departments to identify potential spikes in demand/ product promotions
o Supporting safety initiatives and processes to drive and improve standards
o Develop and implement operational procedures to ensure product specifications & quality metrics are met
o Track, maintain and report on KPI's associated with the Production Department and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements where needed

To be considered for the role of Production Planner you must demonstrate the following competencies:
o Proven experience as a Production Planner within a fast paced environment
o Ability to work at an operational and strategic level
o Knowledge of SAP / JDA Despatcher
o Efficient management of the planning, scheduling & control of work
o Excellent communication and analytical skills
o Strong project management skills
o IT Skills, specifically use of MS Office, bespoke Systems and reporting
o Resourceful, resilient and solution orientated
o Lean manufacturing skills
o Experience of implementing and monitoring improvement initiatives

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to problem solve to develop and implement strategies and solutions.
Attention to detail with the ability to successfully meet deadlines whilst being constantly aware of external and internal customer requirements for quality, efficiency and accuracy.
A positive work ethic and the ability to lead by example and innovatively implement change and continuous improvement.

Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00
