We're on the hunt for an ambitious Restaurant Manager to work for our high-end client in one of St Andrews most popular establishments. Our client caters to a broad range of customers with high expectations for food and quality of service. The restaurant is located close the Royal and Ancient Golf Club in St. Andrews with fantastic views over the beach, an iconic location.
About the Person
To be successful as Restaurant Manager in this role you will have proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager or similar role. To succeed, as you would imagine, you will need to be very focused on outstanding customer service, going the extra mile to ensure the restaurant has exceeded expectations. Your food and beverage knowledge will be extraordinary, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and waiting staff. Back of house experience will also be important therefore familiarity with restaurant management software will be important as will strong leadership, motivation and people skills.
The ideal candidate may well have a relevant degree and some experience, but equally you may also have worked your up way up through the ranks in the restaurant industry. Either way, your adaptability, teamwork and great communication skills will be critically important to your success.
About the Job
Your primary responsibilities as Restaurant Manager will be to coordinate Front and Back of house restaurant operations including organising and supervising shifts, controlling operational costs and ensuring compliance with EHO regulations. With the support of the owner and a great kitchen staff, you will have an excellent support network to help you succeed in maintaining the restaurant's great reputation. You will be expected to cover for the owner in his absence, and so this will be an excellent opportunity to show your initiative and make a name for yourself within the industry.
