Clinical Improvement Lead – Deterioration

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Improvement Lead – Deterioration to lead delivery of the Deterioration workstream to organisations in the East of England. The successful candidate will provide support to the NHS and social care teams involved in the Eastern AHSN Patient Safety Collaborative (PSC) and other Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.

The Clinical Improvement Lead – Deterioration will represent Eastern AHSN at national meetings and share learning with other organisations. The postholder is also responsible for providing practical QI expertise to teams involved in the PSC and other improvement programmes across Eastern AHSN. They will facilitate discussion, coach and advise local project teams on the application of improvement techniques and best practice to enable local teams to oversee delivery of their projects. They will also model a collaborative and influencing style of working, share work, and disseminate learning and information at conferences and meetings.

The Eastern Academic Health Science Network (Eastern AHSN) is one of 15 Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) set up and funded by the NHS to spread innovation at pace and scale that will improve health and care and generate economic growth. Your primary base will be at Eastern AHSN, in Cambridge, with travel across the Eastern region.

The National Patient Safety Collaborative (PSC) programme is the largest and most comprehensive programme of its type in the history of the NHS, supporting and encouraging a culture of safety, continuous learning and improvement across the health and care system. The PSC is funded and co-ordinated centrally by NHS Improvement, but organised and delivered locally by the 15 AHSNs. The PSCs have made a collective commitment to focus on activity of three national areas of work: Culture, Deterioration and Maternal and Neonatal.
