The employee is an expert in the field of vibration measurement and analysis and has a great understanding piezoelectric materials and their application in measurement sensors. Lean and novel approaches to development will enable the individual to lead a fast route through complexity and uncertainty in the early stages of innovation.

Primary Responsibilities

Technical leadership and capability is complemented with a creative, innovative approach to product development challenges particularly through the pre-NPI levels of innovation projects. The employee will be effective working alone and autonomously or as part of an integrated product team. They will direct and participate in the following activities:

Requirements capture

Ideation

Product definition

Design

Problem solving

Validation and Verification (V+V)

They will also be required to:

Perform innovation and product development activities in accordance with company processes and procedures.

Provide the technical lead in internal and customer meetings.

Provide technical leadership at technology readiness review gates.

Liaise and network with other departments and external partners, suppliers and customers as part of an integrated project team.

They may also be required to technically manage design and test work-packages at subcontractors to ensure that appropriate design and verification methodology is applied.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Mandatory

Have a degree in an electro-mechanical related subject.

High level understanding and experience of piezoelectric accelerometer design.

Good understanding of piezo-electric application engineering.

Ability to understand dynamic response output from systems or products (e.g. PE device) and interpret performance.

Expert in engineering vibration analysis.

Knowledge and skills in vibration measurement analysis

Analysing Data or Information - Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.

Have proven experience in a similar role on 2 or more recent projects.

Have proven experience of technical leadership, preferably within aerospace.

Desirable

The above mandatory requirements are related to aerospace.

Good knowledge of aerospace engine component design constraints.

Analyse project requests, proposals or engineering data to determine feasibility, producibility, cost, development time of aerospace products.

Perform feasibility studies and formulate conceptual design of aeronautical or aerospace products or systems to meet customer requirements or conform to environmental regulations.

Formulate mathematical models or other methods of computer analysis to develop, evaluate, or modify design according to the requirements.

Experience of technically managing design work-packages at subcontractors.
