Contract Type: Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

We are recruiting for a Trainer Facilitator and Assessor in Mechanical Engineering to join the team in the Hi-Tech – Engineering and Computing Department here at the College. The post holder will instruct and facilitate learning for students enrolled on a wide range of course, and assess students’ knowledge and competence as appropriate. You will undertake teaching responsibilities commensurate with the role, demonstrating the high standards we expect of colleagues, and deliver functional skills teaching across the section as required.

You will have Level 3 qualifications relevant to the field of mechanical engineering, as well as maths and English at GCSE grade C or above (4-9). You will have demonstrable experience of working in an engineering workshop or environment, including the operation of centre lathes, milling machines, surface grinders and CNC equipment. The ideal candidate would also have an assessor’s qualification and experience working with various external awarding bodies. If, you will be expected to attain an assessor’s qualification within the College’s specified timescale.
