We are seeking a rare individual who is looking to start a career in seed-based botany and agriculture.

Are you interested in learning how to become a Seed Analyst?

We have a permanent vacancy in our Official Seed Testing Laboratory, part of the Analytical Services Team, currently based at our HQ site, Huntingdon Road, Cambridge. The laboratory is involved in the testing of a wide range of species, including purity, other seed contamination, germination, vigour testing.

If successful, you will work in a laboratory setting where you will receive on-the-job training in all crop divisions to gain a qualification of proficiency, including laboratory management.

You will need at least 4 GCSEs or equivalent or some relevant experience. You should be enthusiastic, a good team worker, committed to a rigorous training timetable and have a flexible approach to work. Accuracy, good communication skills and attention to detail are key requirements for the role with some knowledge of modern office software (e.g. MS Office) and quality assurance systems desirable.

The starting salary is in the range £19,432 to £25,640 per annum, dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.
