We are looking for an experienced HR professional who has a successful track record across the range of HR specialisms and is accustomed to driving results in a mix of strategic and operational work. Working collaboratively with heads of departments and team managers, your contribution will complement and help to propel the delivery of our strategic organisational objectives.

CIPD qualified to a minimum of Level 5 (or equivalent) and with significant pre- and post-qualification experience, ideally in the charity, care or education sector, you'll have worked at a senior level contributing to organisational strategy development and corporate decision making.

You'll be:

  • Great at building highly effective relationships, with excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills to support managers to deliver a challenging yet rewarding 'people' agenda
  • Energetic and determined in driving performance improvement
  • Experienced in working within a multi-faceted, highly regulated organisation where innovative problem-solving matched to integrity and high standards will be key
  • A credible promoter of HR best practice who has the ability to understand, interpret and apply the spirit as well as the letter of legislation and regulation
  • A team player who can lead the HR team and also work autonomously
  • Adept at planning and prioritising workload, with flexibility and resilience to match changing needs and competing priorities in a challenging operating environment
  • Able to use key people metrics to drive debate and influence business decisions
  • A confident user of IT and HRISs to streamline administration and produce process efficiencies

This is a generalist role spanning recruitment, staff development, change management, employee relations, strategic planning, policy and development and HR data management.

Key priorities will include;

  • Leading the delivery of effective recruitment campaigns that maximise opportunities to attract candidates in a highly competitive labour market
  • Steering the appointment, contracting and remuneration of staff
  • Leading the HR processes within change management projects, as well as ongoing HR policy and process development
  • Managing and improving our learning and development interventions, commissioning bespoke training, facilitating the delivery of mandatory training and evaluating the effectiveness of training in relation to performance
  • Ensure HR processes and team performance is compliant with sector specific regulatory standards
