Manufacturing Engineer
Competitive Salary to GBP40k + package
World class manufacturer to the motorsport and Automotive world are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to deliver production plans whilst enacting change management and improvement to the overall product quality
OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
To provide manufacturing engineer duties within the MSO (Manufacture Support Office) to deliver the production plan whilst resolving any barriers to production fulfilment.
To enact change management and improvement to overall product quality using technical expertise to both mature and new products though the factory and to reduce Engineering support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To work within the MSO to ensure the manufacturing schedule is achieved On Time In Full.
To determine corrective actions and enact change on current product as part of continuous improvement.
To model, create and amend CAD modelling and drafting on NX 3D CAD to Company standards and procedures.
To ensure verification is undertaken, documented and recorded.
To create Engineering Drawings and issue to the required standard.
To undertake revisions to the Engineering Method for production parts.
Assist troubleshooting product that fail EoL testing.
To advise corrective action to manufacture queries and non-conformance and provide feedback to Engineering as appropriate.
To liaise with and provide guidance to the Engineering, Commercial and Operations departments.
Maintain suitable issue control and Bill of Materials for the parts and projects and in a timely fashion.
To answer NCR's / DMR's/ SDNR's as and when appropriate.
To answer sub-contract and shop floor queries for individual parts managed by the job holder.
Achieve Quality and Delivery KPI targets.
To be available to carry out and assist with development projects as required.
To undertake personnel development.
To observe Health and Safety rules at all times.
To follow Company quality Procedures, Standards and Work Instructions.
To carry out reasonable duties as requested by Management.
PERSON SPEC:
Minimum of an HNC/HND in an engineering related discipline
The basics of transmission functionality is essential
Awareness of Inspection and Measurement techniques
Have awareness of APQP process according to automotive customer requirements
A good working knowledge of draughting standards, geometric tolerances and manufacturing methods
Knowledge of IMDS
Have Knowledge of DFMEA & use of DMAIC root cause analysis & Improvement cycles
SKILLS:
Competent CAD user, preferably NX & TeamCenter PLM is essential
Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel and appreciation of databases
Must be organised and have a structured approach to problem solving
Confident communicator both internally and to suppliers
Ability to work across multiple projects and prioritise accordingly
Good numerical skills and an understanding of statistics
Use of and understanding of A3 problem solving and Root cause analysis tools
