NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

We are looking for an experienced General Practitioner to contribute their leadership, skills and expertise to delivering and developing the best possible physical, mental health and learning disability services for the county.

It is a time of major change in both the NHS and in Gloucestershire. We’re on the cusp of ground-breaking opportunity to integrate healthcare services for our local communities. We are a committed to appointing a 7^th non-executive director to join the Board to assist us in successfully delivering the planned transformation to create a truly integrated and innovative services.

You will be joining us at a time when we are working towards a merger with Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust later this year, with the aim of providing seamless high quality care to patients, service users and carers. The proposed integrated Trust will employ over 5,000 people providing high quality healthcare services to people across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. The successful candidate will also be appointed into the shadow board of the merged Trust.

In this key role you will:

• Provide leadership, with fellow directors, to ensure we deliver high quality services in line with key strategic objectives of Continuous Quality Improvement, Building Engagement and Ensuring Sustainable Services
• Provide independent advice and counsel on the strategic direction of the Trust and the future merged organisation, ensuring constructive challenge and scrutiny on our current and future business plans
• Role model the culture, values and behavioural standards of the Trust

You will be a highly skilled communicator and influencer, possessing excellent leadership skills and a depth of experience. You will bring a significant track record of achievement as a GP with extensive primary care experience.
