Endsleigh Gardens, London

We are looking to recruit a Janitor on a full-time, permanent basis, to work at our Endsleigh Gardens hostel. The service provides accommodation for male and female rough sleepers, many of whom have complex needs including alcohol and substance misuse, mental health and sex working.

In this role you will carry out maintenance functions such as plumbing, painting, woodwork, electrics, tiling and general gardening work and repairs. Other duties include stock control, recording and reporting on all maintenance work completed and ensuring that the maintenance of the buildings comply with all health and safety policies. There is an important element of computer work to this role: raising repairs, purchase orders, placing other orders etc.

While we are looking for someone with the skills required to carry out the core functions of the role you should also have a keen interest in supporting our client group. You will have a sound understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services that are fully responsive to their needs. During your role you will interact with clients on a regular basis.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and initiatives to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development.
