Bereavement Support Practitioner
Our client supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying or when a child is facing bereavement. Every year they train around 9,000 professionals, helping them to better understand and meet the needs of grieving families.
Bereavement Support Practitioner (part-time)
Base: Eastlake Park, Milton Keynes
Hours: 18.75 hours per week
Salary: £24,000 pro rata per annum
In the UK, when a baby or child dies or a child is bereaved, many of those affected are unable to access good quality support which meets their individual needs. Our client believes all families should have the support they need to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. Their aim is to make sure they do.
Our client has been working in Milton Keynes supporting bereaved families and young people for over 5 years. They are expanding their service and are looking to appoint a skilled and compassionate practitioner where a baby or child has died, or where children or young people are bereaved. The role will involve supporting children and young people (up to the age of 25), their families and the professionals with whom they have contact and parents bereaved of a baby or child.
Applicants should have a recognised qualification in education, health, social care, or counselling, as well as experience in supporting bereaved children and knowledge of education, social services and primary care services.
Excellent communication and listening skills, and a positive attitude with energy and drive are essential.
