Our client is a leading Ecology Consultancy Practice that is working on projects throughout the UK. They are now recruiting for an Ecologist to join their Cumbria office where the work will involve the following:
Undertaking and managing ecological impact assessment work in a range of sectors (Residential and Renewable Schemes)
Undertaking Phase 1 surveys
Mitigation and Enhancement Strategies
Tender Proposals and invoicing
Liaising with clients
Managing other team members, including graduates.
To be successful for this role you will have the following skills and background
Have a minimum of 3 years experience of ecology consultancy
Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
Relevant Degree ideally in Ecology or relevant Science qualification
At least one Protected Species Licence
Business development ability
Excellent report writing skills
Excellent survey skills (Phase I and specialism in either botany or a protected species)
Full understanding of legislative and planning policy framework related to ecology and nature conservation
Experience liaising with clients, statutory bodies and LPAs
