A great opportunity to move into a specialist instrumentation sales role with a reputable manufacturer of scientific instrumentation, used in the organic and analytical chemistry markets!

Suitable for a Scientist with a background working in synthetic chemistry/medicinal chemistry/organic chemistry/peptide chemistry/analytical chemistry who is looking for a customer facing scientific sales role!

Full training is provided but excellent commercial awareness is essential.

Travel around the region will be around 4 days a week, with 1 day per week working from home, booking appointments and following up on customer administration etc.

PRODUCTS: Instrumentation (Sample Preparation, Microwave Synthesis Systems, Chromatography Instrumentation)

TERRITORY: South-West England, South Wales, M4 corridor and South Coast of England (to Sussex)

CUSTOMERS: Pharmaceutical, Academic, CRO, Biotechnology Laboratories

Key Function:

Successfully maintain existing business and develop the territory via new business development, to achieve company and territory objectives via field-based activities.

Main Responsibilities:

Maintaining and developing existing business

Prospect and generate new business

Follow-up on leads gained from marketing activity

Equipment demonstrations, training, troubleshooting and presentations at customer sites

Achieve sales against target for the designated region

Closing of sale opportunities

Attendance at industry networking events, exhibitions, conferences and seminars

Monitor competitor activity and analysis

Sales analysis and reporting

Person Specification:

A minimum of a BSc in a scientific degree, ideally Chemistry or Biochemistry (or related area)

A PhD or 2+ year's post degree laboratory experience working in a synthetic chemistry/medicinal chemistry/organic chemistry/peptide chemistry/analytical chemistry laboratory.

Excellent communication skills, motivation to succeed and desire to move into a scientific sales role.
