Cover Supervisor
Permanent, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Term-time plus 5 working days

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to start as soon as possible and are looking for someone who is eager to be involved in all aspects of the school. This role is an ideal opportunity for those looking to gain experience of the teaching profession and would suit a recent graduate or aspiring teacher.
The role involves supervising class groups and covering registrations in the absence of teaching staff. You will give instructions for the lesson, as provided by a teaching colleague and the focus of the role will be to maintain good order and to keep students on task. You will act as a role model and have high expectations of conduct and behaviour. In addition, you will provide administrative support to Heads of Year, accompany students on external visits, invigilate for exams and support teaching and learning across the school.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A good all round education with a minimum of 5 GCSEs A*-C or equivalent including Maths and English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviour management skills
- A passion and commitment for supporting young people
- A calm, organised and flexible approach
This post does not require qualified teacher status although applicants with this status are welcome to apply, and is ideally suited if you wish to gain valuable experience in a successful secondary school. Experience of working with young people would be an advantage although training and induction will be provided.
