ABOUT US "Online business lending with the X-factor" - The Times

2018 has been a transformational year for MarketInvoice. We helped grow more small businesses than ever, crossed the GBP2.0bn funding milestone and completed a GBP30m Series B round of funding. What's even more exciting is that this year, we partnered with some of the World's most prominent financial institutions (most notably Barclays Bank) and via these partnerships we will now have exclusive access to millions of potential customers from around the world.

Growing our team and streamlining our processes to support a big increase in business activity is going to be a clear priority next year. Our technical team needs to double or more to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible financial products to our customers at a larger scale. Now we are looking for a great CTO to grow our engineering, product, design and data science teams and to lead our growth in the next 3-5 years. Our vision for this role is that the right person will not only help us scale, but also, as agility becomes the most important factor in financial services, turn our technology into a competitive advantage.

OUR VALUES

We believe that finance has moved on with technology - and we're here to make it work better for businesses. We want to help entrepreneurs spend more time on ideas and less time worrying about their cash flow. So what makes us different? With our smart online platform, we're making it quick and easy for UK companies to access business finance. But it's not just about the tech. Our people are our greatest asset and one of the best things about working at MarketInvoice. We're a team of bright and talented people from all over the world, who work together to get things done. Positivity is key to our culture, which means we support each other and have a lot of fun along the way. At MarketInvoice, the opportunity for growth is as big as your ambition. We challenge ourselves to learn more and to think in different ways. In fintech, things move quickly - but that's part of the adventure. Our values matter and as part of the team, they'll be yours too. #MakeItHappen | #1Team1Dream | #AlwaysBeLearning Hear from our Co-Founder, Anil Stocker, on his favourite MarketInvoice moment:

THE ROLE

As a CTO, you will be responsible for leading our Engineering, Product, Data and Design teams. You will own and drive our future technology strategy to continue rolling out our market-leading business finance products, as well as ensuring scalability and reliability of our platform and internal risk and operations systems. The role will allow you to dig deep into a broad variety of technical challenges. This includes identifying, aggregating and understanding data to allow for better credit screening, customer experience and product delivery, as well as offline-to-online process automation, machine-learning, and back-end connectivity to our banking infrastructure. You will also be integral to our geographic expansion plans.

We're striving to build a culture where we can attract the very best engineering talent and give them the ability to flourish in a supportive environment that values innovation with cutting-edge technologies and product development methodologies. You will be instrumental in achieving this through the people you bring in and how you coach and develop our teams. You'll also be at the heart of a dialogue between technical and business teams, working on the high-level tech strategy with the founders and diving deep into the complexity with the engineers. You'll drive the Tech team to deliver features and products that our customers care about (and want!) and that our internal teams crave (and need). This role will report directly into the CEO of the company.

OUR TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT

With very few exceptions, all of the systems at MarketInvoice including the customer and admin sites, trading infrastructure, and our payments gateway, have been developed in-house. Our core platform is built in .Net C# and AngularJS and hosted in Azure, but the choice of technologies is continually evolving (our website was recently overhauled in React). This year we have also started to introduce Docker and Kubernetes to optimise our infrastructure and make our team more productive. Our Data team is currently working in R, Python, NodeJS and F#.

We also have a strong DevOps culture and believe CI/CD/Testing are the only ways to innovate at scale.
