Work Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Hackney is London's most diverse and dynamic borough. Stretching from the edge of the City, to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, it is an area of rapid economic growth, particularly in the tech, media, fashion and other creative industries. Hackney has more green space than any other inner London borough, some of the capital's best schools, and first class transport connections, which combined with excellent local public services and a thriving arts, cultural and retail sector, are fast making it one of London's most popular areas to live, work and visit. The challenge for Hackney is to make sure that the borough's economic growth provides benefits for everyone who lives here, and to create opportunities that will transform the lives of local people.

We know that staff are key to our success and we are seeking people with ambition, creativity and commitment to our values to help us achieve the best for the people of Hackney.

As a Sales & Marketing Support Officer, you'll be supporting the marketing and sale of properties for shared ownership and outright sale using the Council's in-house brand, Hackney Sales. Your role will strike a balance between a creative and commercial focus alongside the Council's social purpose - helping the team deliver first-class customer service to residents interested in buying new-build homes by doing everything from creating social media and website content, compiling sales packs, arranging promotional events and updating important statutory records.

You'll come to us with a track record in a dynamic sales or property administration environment, successfully co-ordinating services to ensure smooth delivery. You will have exceptional organisational and IT skills, a methodical approach and be willing to be flexible. You'll also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be confident dealing with customers and stakeholders.

You will also have a track record of successfully engaging with colleagues and third-party professionals - building positive and productive working relationships. This role is particularly suited to those with experience or obvious enthusiasm for working within the property sales industry in either the public or private sector.

We are also working towards our vision, which is to be a place for everyone; where residents and staff can be proud; a place that celebrates diversity and where everyone can feel valued, included and involved. In order to achieve this, we look for people who are: Proud; Ambitious; Pioneering; Open; Proactive; Inclusive.

If you want to work in a place where you can represent our values so we achieve the best for our residents, please visit our website via the button below to apply.

When applying, there will be a number of questions relating to the post on the application form. It is essential that you complete the application questions, responding to each using examples of your skills, knowledge and experience. You are not required to submit a supporting statement or CV.

Closing date for applications: 18th February 2019 at 22:59.

Interview dates: 6th March 2019.

Hackney Council works to eradicate discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy and maternity, age and marital status. We also recognise that people can be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will also work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class. We also welcome those interested in flexible working. We particularly welcome applications from disabled people, as this group is currently under represented in our workforce.
