Requirements Fife is committed to Preventing Offending by "Getting it right for children and young people". This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to this by working closely with partners to effectively intervene with young people who are becoming involved in offending behaviour; encouraging pro-social actions and diverting them away from formal legal systems.
The post-holder will be located within one of our Young Peoples' Teams, but their work will focus on the activity of the Youth Offender Management Group (YOMG). In particular, they will be asked to develop links with schools, and other universal services, to ensure that the best use is made of the diversionary opportunities that these offer to young people.
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
The Individual The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills. They will also have experience of multi-disciplinary working; this post requires liaison with colleagues in a range of agencies and the ability to develop constructive and productive professional working relationships.
This is a new and unique post in Fife. The successful candidate will have the capacity to use their initiative, working with enthusiasm and confidence.
A relevant qualification (SVQ3/HNC or equivalent) is desirable.
