Joining our client as a Learning Facilitator, you will work with a diverse range of learners across a wide range of subjects and levels supporting them to engage effectively with the facilities in the Learning Hubs. Responding to a range of enquiries from both staff and students on the use of the facilities including the library catalogue, electronic resources and use of IT facilities in person, by telephone or via email, you will have excellent skills in communicating with a diverse customer base.
You will take an active role in student induction programmes, guides and tours, you will liaise with curriculum areas to facilitate the use of appropriate resources for specific curriculum areas. You will also contribute to the general upkeep of a tidy and well-maintained learning environment. You will have a good understanding of the needs of a diverse range of learners and be skilled in engaging young people and/or adults returning to education.
With sound knowledge of IT applications including internet and electronic resources and Microsoft Office, you will ideally have experience of working in a modern Learning Centre/Library and of supporting learners in an educational environment. This should include the everyday use of Library Management Systems for various library routines and basic knowledge of a classification system for the organisation of library materials.
Excellent customer care skills and the ability to work on own initiative are essential for this role and you should have the flexibility, enthusiasm and a willingness to undertake a complex variety of tasks. You may also be required to work at more than one college centre and have some flexibility in covering extended opening hours.
Working Pattern: Term Time Only, 38 weeks, 36 hrs per week
