One of the fastest growing private housebuilders in the UK is now looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their successful and ever-expanding team.
Essentially you will work with the commercial department overseeing and managing the following;
- Tendering/Negotiation/Appointment/Management project managers and subcontractors including agreeing fees, prices, interim payments, variations, final accounts and contractual compliance
- Procuring all materials, site preliminaries, plant/equipment hire by tendering, negotiating and appointing nominated contactors and suppliers
- Managing a small team of site based Quantity Surveyors and implementing full cost control system
- Full budgeting and cost control on a variety of new build and conversion developments.
- Implementing and modifying their cost control system across all sites
- Programming of developments
- Cost reporting and cash flow forecasting. Reconciling all costs with initial budgets
- Liaising with project management teams to achieve fast track developments
Candidates ideally will have:
- BSc in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 10 years experience post qualification in a surveying role
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Some demonstrable experience of managing staff or external consultants
- Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness including financial and contract management
- Ability to build strong relationships with contractors
- Diligent with acute cost control skills
