Volunteering Adviser (Wales)
Volunteering is at the heart of the RNLI and we have over 35,000 volunteers in a variety of roles from operational crew and lifeguards to education and fundraising volunteers, which is why we have a need for a Volunteering Adviser to join our Volunteering Team.
You will be covering the whole of Wales and therefore need to be willing to travel across Wales and ideally be home based in Wales or along the M6 corridor. Occasional travel for meetings to our Headquarters in Poole will also be required.
This is a key role within the team, and you will work very closely with a range of stakeholders across the organisation, developing plans and adopting a proactive approach to managing volunteers.
You’ll also provide staff and volunteers with expert advice and guidance in all aspects of volunteering including areas such as recruitment, retention and recognition whilst supporting local implementation of the volunteering framework. We’ll look to you to assist with the development of volunteer management toolkits and support managers in the use of these.
You will be an ambassador for volunteering and ensure it is championed at all levels.
To be successful, you’ll need experience of volunteer management in a similar role, ideally within a large organisation or the ability to transfer. You will be a self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a complex workload.
This post requires a valid driving licence.
