Arborist - Preston GBP9.50 - GBP10 ph
Our client is looking to appoint an Arborist to join their team based in Preston.
This is initially a temporary role, however this would become a permanent position for an outstanding candidate.
Hours of work: Monday - Friday 7.30am - 3.15pm (winter hours)
Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm (summer hours)
Duties & Responsibilities
•To work with the Council's Tree Officer and the Arborist Team
•To carry out Arboricultural operations and routine tree maintenance
•To carry out pruning in accordance with BS 3998 (2010) - tree work recommendations
•Making safe dangerous trees
•Be prepared to work in emergencies / out of hours
•Ensure that current codes of practice and standards are adhered to
•To carry out work efficiently, effectively and safely in accordance with current health and safety legislative requirements
•To communicate effectively with customers, contractors and partner organisations
Skills & Experience
•City & Guilds Qualified (or time served)
•Ability to work in a team
•Tree Identification
•Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation
•Knowledge of Chapter 8
•Experience of tree climbing and aerial tree operations
•Experience of tree pruning and felling
•Use of woodchippers and stump grinders
•Highway tree operations
•Willingness to attend emergency call outs
•Current full driving licence.
•Ability to tow a trailer with category B+E on your driving licence.
