Export Clerk

Our client a small family run freight forwarding company based in Basildon are looking for an experienced EXPORT CLERK to join their team

The EXPORT CLERK role will involve:

• Operating a very use to use freight system
• Building files
• Ensuring correct paperwork has been received/sent for export clearance
• Checking dangerous goods note prior to shipment of air/sea consignments
• Booking transport for collections/deliveries of goods
• Issuing House Bills and checking the final Line bills of lading
• Occasionally photographing and check weighing received and loading goods
• Quoting for shipments as and when requested by clients
• Other general office duties i.e. filing etc., .

The ideal EXPORT CLERK candidate will:

• Have experience of working within the freight forwarding industry
• Be fully conversant with paperwork requirements for export of goods by sea and air worldwide, for LCL, FCL and airfreight
• Have an excellent telephone manner
• Be used to working under pressure

Mon - Fri 8:45am- 5:30pm with 1 hour for lunch
20 Days holiday per year
