Seasonal Field Trials Technicians

Required from late March – end of August 2019

NIAB is looking to recruit Field Trial Technicians, to work in plant variety trials. The roles will involve sample collection, measuring plant characteristics in the field and via image analysis, and a range of other practical tasks. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in agricultural field crops/plot trials while developing professional skills in team working, time management and practical problem solving.

Applicants will need to demonstrate an interest in agriculture/plant sciences and be willing to learn, full training will be given. A good eye for detail is also essential, along with the ability to follow strict protocols. Applicants will have the ability to work as part of a team including good verbal and written communication. The work can be physically demanding and will entail spending substantial periods of time working outdoors.

The roles are Cambridge based, and a full driving licence is desirable, as is the requirement to work at off-site trials.

Salary is in the range of £17,316 - £20,218 per annum.
