About the role:
Our Client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Administrator to join them to support the development of a strong foundation for their new, ambitious work area within the Participation division of the Advocacy and Public Engagement team.

Millions of people are locked in poverty in the UK. They don’t believe that’s right. That’s why they’ve made it their mission to solve it. Their new strategy is to work alongside others to build public and political will for change and demand for solutions.

People with lived experience of poverty are core to this mission. Our Client is committed to working alongside people with lived experience of poverty to co-develop solutions and take action, amplifying their voice, providing a platform and putting them at the heart of their ambition to solve UK poverty.

Critical to this is the relationships they can build with people with experience of poverty and the grassroots groups that support them. This role will support and establish the strong foundation needed to underpin their work in this area, ensuring that they provide thoughtful and caring administrative support, ensuring an excellent event/meeting experience for their partners.

Working closely and collaboratively with colleagues in your team and across the organisation, you will help build strong relationships with their lived experience partners through the provision of flawless organisational, logistical and administration support, enabling our Client to build trust and engage effectively.

About you:
A self-motivated individual, you will have a strong interest and passion for what they are trying to achieve – working alongside people with lived experience to solve poverty in the UK.

You will have experience of organising meetings and small events, including booking venues and travel arrangements, ensuring that additional support needs are met and events are accessible for a wide range of needs.

They are looking for someone who has excellent administrative experience, coupled with an in-depth understanding of the extra support needs of volunteers/ people with experience of poverty/vulnerable groups. With a supportive, patient and understanding attitude, you will be highly organised and will have a positive, can-do, proactive approach.

First-class communication skills are essential, as is having a confident style, especially on the telephone. With a friendly and approachable personality, you will look at various ways of communicating with people based on their needs.

About us:
Our Client is a social change organisation with a 100-year history. They’re built on trust, show they care, and exist to make a difference.

They work with others to put forward sector-leading research, evidence, solutions and stories to the UK’s influencers and decision-makers.

They believe that a prosperous poverty-free UK is within reach - they just need more people to believe it too.

To make their vision a reality they need talent, ideas, skills and passion, plus they need to change some of what they do and how they do it. So, they’re embarking on a significant period of change - change that will see them become an outcomes-focused organisation that embraces new ways of working and modern practices.

If you share their passion, then they need to hear from you.

Closing date for applications is Thursday 21 February 2019
