Audio Visual Technician - Malvern


A fantastic opportunity is now available for an Audio Visual Technician to join our Reach Event Services team based in Malvern. This role will require the successful candidate to assist the team in delivering high quality technical support across a varied range of commercial events in the Reach Plc event calendar.

Within this role you will be responsible for the construction and erecting of event sets, installing audio, lighting and vision equipment and assisting the Project Manager to ensure our events run smoothly.

We are keen to speak with candidates who have a strong level of IT Literacy including the use of full Microsoft suite, and have at least 1 years' experience as an Audio Visual Technician.

Key Responsibilities
  • To erect sets professionally at the event venue in line with all Health and Safety regulations.
  • To fully read and understand the venue restrictions of Health and Safety whilst on site.
  • To ensure that all equipment is stored correctly in documented order for ease of access and insurance purposes.
  • Assist Project Manager in providing clients with professional, cost effective presentations using computerised packages including scanners and digital pictures
  • To install audio, lighting and vision equipment in-line with the event brief and the project managers instructions.
  • To represent the Reach plc event team at commercial events with the ability to solve problems and respond to adhoc requests from commercial, event and editorial teams

The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous demonstrable experience within an Events role
  • Demonstrable experience of managing large audio/visual infrastructure
  • Ability to remain calm and respond positively to challenging situations and difficulties
  • An understanding of and commitment to your individual responsibility to comply with Health & Safety Policy and Welfare arrangements
  • Knowledge and skills of an audio visual infrastructure for commercial or corporate environments would be a distinct advantage.
  • Can collaborate with others as part of a team - the role will require the chosen candidate to work alongside Event managers.
  • Work under high pressure - the chosen candidate will be good at managing and organising multiple tasks at a single time.

Additional Features to this position

  • Be available to take out-of-hours management support calls in emergencies
  • Attend internal/external training courses
  • Attend events involving travel and overnight stays as required
  • Flexible approach to a varied calendar of events
  • Must have Full UK Driving Licence
  • Must have good timing skills and a reliable nature.
