Production Planner
Beacon are looking for a Production Planner to work for a leading electronics manufacturing company based in Pulborough
Planning of manufacturing and design jobs from receipt of order through to despatch to meet customer delivery requirements, endorsing a lean approach.
Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, stores, quality, service and engineering to ensure orders are expediently progressed through the factory.
Create manufacturing and design orders in MRP to translate the customer's requirements in terms of drawings and BOM's into firm production instructions and ensure that work packs and essential labels are available.
Monitor and control all aspects of the production (and pre-production) processes to ensure a smooth, efficient process flow for each works order assembly.
Analyse and produce KPI results for key production planning targets and work with existing teams to implement strategies to meet existing and new KPI's.
Analyse all new demand for assemblies, ensure new planned orders are added to plans with realistic dates and identify any 'false' demand.
Be aware of and check on the current status of orders progressing through production, particularly those behind or at risk to schedule.
Expedite material slippages and shortfalls through purchasing.
Advise customer services and management of any slippages likely to affect planned completions in timely manner and take action to mitigate the impact of such slippages.
Conducting/attend planned weekly meetings as scheduled including production meetings.
Completing customer services forms for new order and expedited despatch date requests in a timely manner.
Creating and maintaining level load plans for new and existing products,
Identify and resolve bottlenecks affecting delivery forecast.
Escalating issues in a timely manner.
Keep informed and support the Company ISO14001 Environmental Management System and ISO9001 Quality Management System and improvement team activities including seeking new 'green' opportunities and suggestions on how the business can improve.
Responsibility for adhering to the Company's ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems.
Relevant experience and proven previous track record in a planner role in Electronics Manufacturing and Engineering
Experienced user of MRP.
Proficiency in Word, Excel & Other MS Office Applications.
Good understanding of planning and business processes. Well organised and methodical work ethic.
