Each day our staff work with individuals to tackle the underlying causes of homelessness, such as poor mental health or drug and alcohol dependency. From supporting people in crisis to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment, we make a difference to 1100 lives every year on average.

We are recruiting a new staff member to join our Floating Support services in Southend:

TENANCY SUSTAINMENT PROJECT WORKER (Ref No: TS1)

Starting salary at Point 21, £20,541 rising incrementally to Point 24, £22,401 per annum

Contract Type: Temporary 31 March 2020. 37 hours per week

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will provide tenancy sustainment support for rough sleepers with low/medium levels of needs who are leaving the street, former rough sleepers leaving hostels and those at imminent risk of sleeping rough who are housed in the private rented sector, housing association or council homes.  This will include many individuals who have not previously been supported by HARP, or been through our Pathway to Independence program.

Support will include, but not limited to:

  • developing independent living skills
  • learning to manage a tenancy and adhere to tenancy terms including paying rent
  • learning to budget
  • support and signposting to claims benefits
  • to develop and cultivate support networks
  • signposting into education
  • signposting to other agencies for help and support

HARP will provide you with excellent support and training to carry out your role effectively, to develop your career and contribution to our clients and of course the opportunity to work with dedicated colleagues that strive to transform lives.

Our starting benefits package includes 25 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays, a contributory pension scheme through The People’s Pension.  HARP will make a contribution to the pension and you will also be required to make a contribution.
