Technical Sales / Business Development**

*Main Job Purpose*

We are now looking to strengthen our Technical Sales team by recruiting a first class Technical Sales expert. Working mainly in business-to-business sales (but with some business to consumer sales), you will be involved with all aspects of Business Development including sales generation, processing, reporting, quoting/estimating and administration.

You will be tasked with growing our business within the current geographic area and also look to expand our existing services and products to new and existing customers.

With full accountability for the Technical Sales function, you will be responsible for meeting and delivering targets in accordance with company expectations, working closely and positively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are supported and achieved.

Using your proven technical expertise you will understand our customers' requirements and then incorporate your technical knowledge into your sales pitch.

*Essential Requirements*

• Demonstrable record of success in the achievement of sales, profit and strategic objectives
• Possess a technical qualification (or qualified by experience) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience of taking accountability for the on-time implementation of organisation targets and performance objectives
• Record of successfully achieving strategic objectives as defined by the Managing Director
• Positive, can-do personality
• Influential and likeable
• Positive, collaborative, respectful approach to working with other departments
• Knowledge of industry standards and ability to interpret these into system design
• Ability to work as a team and on own initiative
• Use of software systems including MS Office

*Main Duties of Role*

• Ownership and accountability for the full sales process from enquiry to design.
• Identify and explore market growth opportunities that are complimentary to business plan objectives.
• Develop business relationships and identify key accounts in order to implement growth, including identification of cross product selling opportunities to existing and new customers.
• Maintain Regular contact with key accounts and log all communications through Customer Relations Manager (CRM) software.
• Use software systems internally to ensure all data is recorded, including logging of calls and customer liaisons through CRM.
• Generate enquires through local networking events
• Identify opportunities and make contact for introductory visit
• Work closely with Marketing and provide support and follow up to strategic marketing campaigns
• Work closely with senior management team colleagues to ensure operational delivery of accounts.
• Provide support to other sales team personnel, including attending customer meetings and site visits as required.
• Ensure that you are accessible to customers either in person or by phone to directly discuss issues.
• Provide support and be accessible for admin and finance teams, providing direct customer contact relating to account queries including negotiation and recovery of funds where non-payment of invoices occur.
• Working as a member of the Sales Team, coordinate own sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the sales organisation.
• Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency throughout the sales process.
• Work to ensure all business leads and objectives are assigned and dealt with in a timely and appropriate fashion.
• Work closely with subordinates and colleagues to inspect design and installation quality and prioritise opportunities for improvement.
• Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives
• Build peer support and strong internal-company relationships with colleagues at all levels
• Such other duties as reasonably required for successful fulfilment of the role.
