Boarding House Parent (Swanbourne, Milton Keynes)

You can earn a competitive salary dependant on skills and qualifications. Permanent Full time position. The hours of work vary due to the nature of the role, You will work six days out of seven and will have one full day off per week. You are required to work intermittently throughout the day, beginning with wake-up duties, and finishing with lights-out assisted by a designated member of staff. However, the individual periods of work throughout the day are shorter than lessons or activity sessions, which means over a week, Houseparent's will be on duty approximately the same length as other non-management staff.

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a friendly, family orientated preparatory school with strong boarding, positioned in the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside. They are now looking for a Boarding House Parent to join the team in Swanbourne, Milton Keynes.

You will be responsible to the Head for the efficient administration of the Boarding House and the well-being of the pupils in their care. You will take chief responsibility for the running of the House with the support of a partner to assist them in the fulfilment of their role. Together you will be known as the Boarding Houseparents. You will be responsible for the pastoral care of students in boarding. You will help create a relaxed, happy and caring environment, maintain good discipline and ensure all students feel at home and at ease. You will also participate in activities and excursions as required

Essential Criteria;

Experience of pastoral management and safeguarding best practice
Experience of care of children and young people, including experience of caring for young people when they are not well
Experience of supporting pupils of all abilities to make excellent progress
Experience of middle management within a school
Current and clean driving licence
Excellent basic education

Desirable Criteria;

First Aid, training will be offered
Qualified to at least degree level
Experience of working in a boarding school
