Our client is a successful, established and continually growing business near Wisbech.

Following an internal restructure, they are now recruiting for an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the accounts team.

Reporting to the head of the department, your responsibilities will be varied and will include;

Preparation and production of monthly management accounts for two businesses
Analysing and reporting variances against budget
Month end reporting
Prepayments and accruals
Month end journals
Balance sheet reconciliations
Preparing year end financial statements for auditors
Weekly flash reports and analysis
Fixed asset register
Supervising and overseeing month end close
VAT returns
Cashflow forecasting
Overseeing one team member
Covering for transactional duties and payroll as necessary

The successful candidate will ideally be actively studying towards an accounting qualification with a view to becoming fully qualified in time.

Strong communication skills, the ability to work to challenging deadlines and an above average understanding of Excel are essential attributes that will lead to the successful completion of this role.

Staff management experience would be a distinct advantage, and an open and encouraging attitude is key to the successful fulfilment of this position.

As this role will be working with senior management, the ability to articulate yourself to people at varying levels is very important.
