We are currently recruiting for a Facilities role, for our client based in the Chelmsford area. This an initial 3-month contract (with a view for extension) and we are looking for candidates who can start immediately.
The Role:
* Provide facilities, porterage and health and safety services to the force to ensure that any health and safety issues are not compromised and that an efficient and effective service is delivered.
* Report all maintenance & repair issues to the Business Centre Facilities Service Desk, including undertaking any minor repairs, maintenance, decoration work as identified through established local & force reporting procedures in order that compliance with the health and safety legislation and best value for money is achieved.
* Oversee the ordering, delivery, despatch, distribution, maintenance, storage and disposal processes for all goods, plant and equipment received on or removed from all force locations, this may also include use of Police vehicles and driving off site, in addition to this maintaining audit logs as required including listing items needing registering in accordance with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations, in order that legislation and regulations are complied with, reporting any faults in line with force procedure.
Requirements:
* The job holder will have experience of carrying out facilities and caretaking duties, such as general building work, carpentry, basic electrical and plumbing knowledge and be willing to undertake training as and when directed to comply with Health and Safety Legislation and COSHH regulations, such as Manual Handling and be able to transport firearms that have been made and marked safe as per force policy.
