Technical Engineer
Location: Solihull
Salary: Up to £40,000 + Benefits Package
SSP is a global provider of technology systems and solutions across the entire insurance industry. We provide core technology solutions, distribution and trading capability, advanced analytics and solution delivery.
Our team is growing, so we are on the lookout for a Technical Engineer based at our Solihull office. The Technical Engineer sits within our Internal IT Team, working within a team of 10 employees who are across all 3 sites in the UK, supporting our global colleagues.
The purpose of the Technical Engineer will be –
To work as a member of the Internal IT Team developing, maintaining, documenting and testing our infrastructure and services. You will be on the front line enabling internal teams with any technical issues they may have with their equipment.
We’d like to meet a Technical Engineer with –
- A broad range of technical skills including, Windows Server 2008/12/16, VMware, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP and Exchange Online/O365.
- We are also interested in people with skills and experience in SCCM, SharePoint, Backup Software and/or Cloud Migration.
- The ability to investigate and diagnose problems in systems and services. Assist with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Use of network switches and Wi-Fi management.
- You will need experience of documenting changes based on requests for change and be able to apply change control procedures.
The Technical Engineer’s Responsibilities & Accountabilities include –
- Assisting with technical integration process and release management of projects.
- Monitoring and taking proactive actions to protect out services.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues for internal teams.
- Server and SharePoint administration.
- Hardware and software updates and installation.
- Documenting system, process and procedures and configuration.
- Provide technical assistance and support, for the junior members of the internal IT team.
