Youth Intervention Specialist (Queen Elizabeth Hospital)

c. £20,700 – 24,700

Redthread works with vulnerable young people in crisis. Whether they have been the victim of a stabbing, are seeking support for anxiety, have suffered a sexual assault, or want to find a new home beyond the reach of a gang, we support them to overcome the challenges they face through our dynamic youth work programmes.

We launched our Birmingham service in July 2018 and are looking for an exceptional professional to join the team who is keen to learn, with proven ability to work with high risk, vulnerable young people, and the capacity to form effective working relationships with a wide range of partners and agencies. The role is based in the Emergency Department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Our work was recently featured on BBC News which gives a taster of what we do (https://vimeo.com/241223288).

“Redthread youth workers are doing an incredible job helping young victims to move away from the circles that led to them getting hurt” (Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, July 2016)

The purpose of the role is to work with young victims of violence and exploitation in the ‘teachable moment’, empowering them to make positive choices and working with partner agencies for long-term change.
