Overall purpose of role
The role of Finance Projects accountant is part of the European Referendum Response Programme (ERRP/Brexit).
The role holder will be working as part of a team that are responsible for the SAP Galaxy ledger setup, cost set up allocations under an OCIR environment and building budget models.
Key Accountabilities
- Support local management in Dublin to ensure that cost flows are understood and associated reporting requirements are achieved
- Maintaining SAP Static Data and ensuring that any changes to the BBIe hierarchy are executed
- Role will require ability to leverage other teams to meet our objectives and therefore critical to have the skills to 'deliver through others'
- Supporting cut over activity in relation to the business areas moving into BBIe through journal preparation, posting, reporting and set up of ETAs etc as required
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
The candidate should have good experience of dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the business across multiple locations. In addition, the candidate should be comfortable in leading discussions regarding SAP with business stakeholders.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
This role requires good analytical and financial modelling skills in order to review cost and allocation data and build budget variance models. The candidate should have a good knowledge of SAP to be able to able to investigate and resolve any issues with the new hierarchy and propose corrective actions.
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Person Specification
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- SAP experience essential
- The right candidate will be educated to degree level or above, preferably in a numeric/accountancy/finance related discipline and will hold an accountancy qualification eg CIMA, ACCA or ACA (or equivalent)
- Experience of working in a dynamic change environment
- Advanced Excel (Pivots, Formulas) and PowerPoint skills coupled with the ability to manage large amounts of data and Datamodelling
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience of working in banking/financial services
- Experience in working as part of a multi-location project
- Project Management experience
