~~All staff are required to have read, and to act in accordance with the Product Control department's (and other Finance area's if applicable) formal policies and procedures at all time, with specific focus on the following:
• Product Control Operating Model Overview
• Valuation & Revenue Recognition policy (and associated operational processes documentation)
• Balance sheet substantiation policy

Responsibilities include the following:
• Managing the production of the Daily P&L, including analysis and explanation
• Managing the balance sheet validation ensuring completeness, accuracy & integrity of the ledger, including verification review and commentary.
• Assisting in daily Risk reporting, through backtesting signoff
• Liaison with Front Office and other support functions
• Managing, training and developing staff
• Continuous evaluation and improvement of current processes
• Involvement in ad hoc projects
• Identify issues (accounting, booking, valuation, processes etc) before they become major issues, and suggest ways to remedy
• Work with the Product Control MIS team to ensure that all books are reflected correctly in the departmental MIS reporting and that all central processes and controls are adhered to.
• Interact with wider finance team on any queries relating to the portions of the BS owned by product control
Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Degree Education from first or second tier University.
• Qualified Accountant

Experience required to successfully perform the role
• Extensive product control experience
• Experience of source system reconciliations
• Change management expertise
• Ability to manage upwards as well as to manage and delegate downwards
• Ability to understand and break down complex issues into simple concepts

Knowledge, technical skills and expertise
