We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated candidate who will work as Warehouse Manager within our flagship Manchester branch. Duties which will include; managing the warehouse layout to ensure efficiency and best practice, amending the K8 system with branch and stock updates and you will ensure stock is managed effectively and stored safely at all times.
You will be responsible for a number of direct line reports and will you will be expected to adhere to our Zero Harm policy and ensure that members of your wider team act in accordance with these principles. The successful candidate will work closely with the transport team to plan delivery in line with customer expectations, will be responsible for the entire employee life cycle for all direct reports and will show a high level of leadership at all times.
What does the role involve?
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate self-motivation and strong people management skills. In the role of Manager you will be required to keep calm, think logically and ensure processes and procedures are followed within your team. As a Warehouse Manager at SIG, you must adhere to our Alcohol and Substance Misuse Policy which includes random testing for those in safety critical roles which would include the role of Warehouse Manager and their sub-ordinates. To apply, candidates should be educated to A-Level standard as a minimum, hold a valid UK driving licence, ideally be in possession on a valid FLT Counter Balance Certificate.
Applicants should have some of the following skills and experience in order to be considered for the role:-
People leadership/management, FMCG (or 3PL) experience, Lean and CI experience, Knowledge of WMS (ideally implementation and commissioning), Experienced in Inventory Control, Stock counts and Perpetual Inventory, Knowledge of design, implementation and management of a suite of KPI's. We would also hope to see kowledge of life-cycle inventory/ stock rotation and Forecasting experience.
We also require a minimun IOSH qualification and Hazardous Goods procedures and legislationin in order to ensure our Zero Harm health and safety initiatives are achieved.
