Assistant Project Manager

A regionally renowned Civil Engineering contractor will shortly be commencing work on a major civils scheme in the Winterbourne Abbas area of Dorset. The project is a Visual Impact Provision (VIP) and involves working in an area assigned as an area of outstanding natural beauty, under-grounding overhead power cables in order to preserve the environment. It's a unique and fascinating project being delivered for the National Grid and this is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of it.

My client are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to start pre-construction works over the next month or two. Enabling works are expected to commence in early April but they are keen to bring the successful candidate on board sooner to work form the office.

The role will involve project programming, procuring and co-ordinating materials, delivering RAMS, overseeing sub-contractors and plant as well as Health and Safety responsibility. The project is expected to last for two years and you'll be required for the full duration.

To be considered for this role you'll need 5-10 years of working on Civil Engineering schemes, in a Site Agent, Sub Agent or Engineering capacity. You'll require SMSTS and First Aid in addition to a relevant Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree or qualification. You will be required to live within a reasonable daily commute of the project or be in a position to source and fund accommodation close by.
