CIPFA-Penna are working in partnership with a local authority in the North-East of England to appoint an Interim Principal Accountant for a 6/9-month period.
The opportunity will involve a good mixture of hands-on accounting work with more strategic finance business-partnering and operational support. You will be working closely with the CFO in setting up a new authority from a finance point of view (e.g. setting up bank accounts, preparing ledgers, etc.) as well as closing the 2018/19 set of accounts. Additionally, you will be providing financial guidance and support to a portfolio of interesting development projects and building good working relationships with non-finance stakeholders throughout the organisation (and outside the organisation).
