JOB TITLE: Head of Visitor Services / Deputy Mine Manager
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP33,000 - GBP35,000 pa plus great benefits including a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme and operates a flexible working policy.
WORKING HOURS: Full Time 36 hours per week

THE COMPANY / ROLE: Do you have practical experience in mining and familiarity with the Mines Regulations 2014 and looking for a new challenge in management? Our client is an amazing and unique attraction based in Wakefield capturing the hearts and minds of those who visit. Over 100,000 visitors join our client each year and in support of their mission to keep the stories of coal mining alive, they now seek an energetic and passionate Head of Visitor Services / Deputy Mine Manager to join their team.

As the Head of Visitor Services / Deputy Mine Manager you will predominantly supervise the allocation of Museum guides to specific informational and instructional underground tours and allocate other appropriate duties to all staff . Duties will also be to enhance the quality of peoples experience to the museum, to work to increase the number of visitors and to support the learning team to inspire and create enjoyment to visitors to the NCMME.

Using your mining knowledge you also will provide additional support and assistance for curatorial, exhibitions and education work programmes and activities and will also deputise for the Mine Manager and take on associated duties during their absence.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Visitor Services / Deputy Mine Manager role must be the holder of a First Class Certificate of Competency and must be familiar with the Mines Regulations 2014. In addition, candidates will need to have practical experience of mining and specific experience of underground working. Candidates will need to be excellent communicators who can work well as part of a wider team and organisation and must be able to commute to Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
