Junior Financial Analyst

Role Overview:

Sopra Steria are currently looking for a Junior Financial Analyst for a 12 month contract working on one of our Government projects. The role will be to provide decision support, reporting, and financial analysis, while monitoring compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, measurement rules, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
• Compile financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
• Establish and maintain the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
• Review cash reporting for accuracy and completeness
• Review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
• Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients.
• Manage the cost base both internally and supplier focused
• Review, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
• Review the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems.
• Prepare customer reporting

Essential Skills:

• Recognised professional accounting qualification/part qualification or equivalent.
• Understanding of ERP systems.
• Understanding of ERP systems, and complex accounting & internal control environments
