We have an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer to join our team to support the Production & Factory Manager.
Job Purpose:
- Lead or work within the team to ensure projects are completed on time and budget, and meet high quality standards
- Continuously review quality control processes, procedures and capabilities to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods for meeting quality requirements, and make recommendations for improvement as appropriate
- Undertake mechanical or electrical design and consultancy work including systems design, production, specifications and schedules
- Management of design and applicable certification including CE, CB and UL marking

Core Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate as a member of cross-functional project teams in developing products from concept through to completion
- Implement protocols and methods to ensure that incoming material and manufactured products are compliant with internal requirements as well as to standards/regulations
- Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation
- Recommend, support and implement continuous improvement activities, processes and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
- Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
- Present production information to the Managing Director, including suggestions for potential improvement and strategies for implementing these suggestions
- Undertake defect surveys on products providing reports as required to management
- Support the Production & Factory Manager in the day to day implementation of policies, procedures, standards necessary to maintain the integrity of on-going operational activities
- Assist in the production of regular reports using IT reporting tools and analytical data
- Troubleshoot and modify products to improve quality and output
- Contribute to the R&D programme of work as well as improvements to current products and processes
- Evaluate project work against specification and drawings; re-engineer installations and systems to ensure the company delivers to the customer's exact requirements
- Knowledge of key regulations, European and UK legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines and best practice within a manufacturing environment for electrical products (CE, CB and UL marking)
- Analyse, interpret and assess results of data analysis
- Train production staff members so they are fully competent in following documented production processes and maintaining the company's very high-quality standards and suggest improvements if required
- Interpretation of electrical and functional test requirements from test specifications
- Take an active role in developing standards and best practice to share with colleagues
- Write reports, attend meetings, exchange information with other professionals, record and store information in compliance with legislation, regulations and company policies
- Ensure the maintenance and testing of equipment are carried out in accordance with regulatory and company standards and policies.
- Produce 3D CAD/Solidworks models, assemblies, drawings and documentation as necessary to support production
