Jenni at CK Group is recruiting for a Engineering Project Manager to join a company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Macclesfield on a 12 month contract basis.

The Company:
Our client is one of the worlds leading research driven pharmaceutical manufacturers. They are responsible for the development and manufacture of a range of pharmaceutical products for the treatment of life altering diseases.

Location:
This role is located on a state of the art manufacturing facility based in Macclesfield. Their site is easily commutable from Stockport, Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester and Warrington.

The Role:
The Engineering Project Provides technical leadership to high risk / high business impact projects / technical developments across territories. Will provide functional leadership within own discipline, leading or contributing to appropriate corporate engineering and technology strategies. Will coach and mentor other employees in their discipline across the business and are likely to also have formal line management of a team of engineering professionals and technicians.

The main accountabilities of the Project Manager include:
?? Has responsibility for delivering a major global engineering project from $5M to $200M+ USD, leading the project from conceptual design of assets through construction and commissioning.
?? Recruits, defines goals, sets and manages performance standards for a multi-functional team of up to 20+ staff of engineering professionals and technicians.
?? Planning, managing and controlling overall allocation of resources, to ensure that customer requirements are met at the optimum cost.
?? Manages the relationship with key clients, stakeholders and portfolio managers.
?? Leads, defines and gains approval of business needs and the translation of these needs into requirements.
?? Aligns project delivery strategy, including value for money, risk and technology considerations.
?? Defines and executes a sourcing strategy for projects or programmes, including appointment and control of external contracts, often sourced from different countries.
?? Leads, defines and achieves engineering, safety and work standards and associated procedures, to ensure the assets meet business needs and satisfy external regulators.
?? Contributes to ongoing development and performance enhancement of the project management function by measuring and monitoring key performance indicators of project delivery.
?? Defines best practice in Project Management, and proactively acts as a thought leader in determining leading Project Management business processes.

Your Background:
To succeed in this role, you are required to have the following:
?? Engineering Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
?? Professional Engineering Status.
?? Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, specifically API production.
?? Proven team leadership experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or R&D environment.
?? Communication skills with senior level executives.
?? Project sponsors and senior business leaders/stakeholders.
?? Project technical managers and Operations end users.

It is an advantage to have the following skills, experience and knowledge:
?? Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory production requirements.
?? Experience managing external design consultants and construction contractors.
?? Design consultants.
?? Construction contractors.
?? Equipment suppliers.
