Job Summary

The role is based in Bath and is responsible for delivering budgeted revenues into T911 magazine and digital brand. The other key stake holder of the magazine is the editor who is based in Bournemouth. It is therefore critical to form an excellent working relationship with the editor and work form the Bournemouth office one day a week.

Key role responsibilities

  • Deliver agreed revenue targets independently as this role has no direct team members working alongside it.
  • Account manage and develop existing advertisers and protect existing revenues.
  • Be the brand ambassador for T911 magazine and website, passionately ensuring it hits commercial advertising sales budget every month
  • Run the flatplan, the forecast and the strategy for the brand (with help and support from other more senior managers)
  • Explore and develop new business opportunities from clients direct and through advertising agencies across print and digital.
  • Develop new ways of generating commercial revenues
  • Target endemic and non-endemic clients with a view to securing partnerships and content creative solutions.
  • Pro-actively identify clients, create ideas and produce sales pitches/presentations for new business.
  • Gain client and agency meetings to present these ideas. Produce excellent creative and exciting pitch documents with the support of marketing and other people on the team and then present and pitch to Marketing Managers, owners of business in the T911 market and related business areas.
  • Look to see if there are revenue opportunities from sponsorship and promotions teams and PR agencies.
  • Develop close working relationship with your line manager, and Senior Management team to ensure strategy is in line with the wider business and overall Future Sales Strategy
  • Ensure we proactively position ourselves such that we gain major share of revenue from the clients allocated media budget plus, generating revenues from other budgets
  • Represent Future with the highest level of standards in the media industry in terms of professionalism, knowledge and expertise.
  • Ensure that you have a good relationship with your clients such that Future is the first choice advertising vehicle for their advertising and marketing budgets, and that they are actively encouraged to increase their budgets to exploit the opportunities that Future have to offer.
  • To maximise revenues whilst protecting yields such that all business is transacted at with agreed profit margin
  • To work with the Ad Operations team and present ideas that will inspire the client to spend additional revenues with Future. Ensure these ideas are communicated through effective telephone presentations, negotiated efficiently and then delivered in line with our promises.

Essential skills and experience

  • Media Sales experience is essential
  • Evidence of working independently and delivering targets independently is important
  • Being tenacious and working hard independently is very important
  • Good knowledge and experience of print advertising sales and some digital experience would be beneficial
  • Experience of developing brand strategy, forecasting and running a flatplan would be beneficial
  • Ability to travel to Bournemouth one day a week and travel to visit customers across the country is critical An interest in cars, moreover an interest in Porsche T911's would be advantageous.
